Top AEW Star Suspended Following Backstage Altercation

Anything can happen in the world of professional wrestling, and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Eddie Kingston recently completed a suspension from AEW. According to the report Kingston was suspended a few weeks ago following a verbal dispute with Sammy Guevara, but the suspension has ended.

Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara have been feuding for weeks, and the plan was for them to face off at All Out, but it’s not clear if that’s still happening.

Fightful Select reports that Kingston hasn’t been at AEW events and at least one planned segment to build up the All Out match has been scrapped. Rumors among talent are that heat developed between Kingston and Guevara. The word going around backstage is that Guevara made a comment about Eddie’s physique, so Eddie took a swing at him. However, that hasn’t been confirmed.

Eddie Kingston issued the following statement to PWInsider regarding the altercation between himself and Guevara:

“You know the truth. I wouldn’t lie. I was wrong for being unprofessional. That is the blind fact. He did what he did and the public can judge that but I know for a fact I was wrong.”
