Cody Rhodes was one of the key figures in AEW when the company first launched, and many people were surprised when he parted ways with the company last year. The American Nightmare returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 where he defeated Seth Rollins, but it sounds like he still keeps in touch with current AEW World Champion MJF.
During a recent appearance on the NotSam Wrestling Podcast, MJF talked about his current relationship with Cody Rhodes and explained that he still calls him to get a second opinion.
“I’ll still call him when I honestly need… rarely do I need advice – I mean, look at me. But I’ll call him because I respect the s*it out of him. I’ll call him to get a second masterful opinion.”
Cody Rhodes recently won the Royal Rumble and he’s currently set to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39. As for MJF, he’s currently set to defend his AEW World Championship against Bryan Danielson in an Iron Man match at the upcoming Revolution pay-per-view. Stay tuned for updates.
