CM Punk and The Elite have been off TV for weeks now following the brawl at All Out last month, but it looks like The Elite are set to return sooner than later. It doesn’t seem that CM Punk is expected to return to AEW as the company is reportedly in talks to buy out his contract.
Fightful Select reports that after the brawl between Punk, Ace Steel and The Elite at All Out several people approached. One of those people was Chris Jericho who was praised for his demeanor during the post-show media scrum right after the altercation took place.
Chris Jericho was unhappy about the brawl and Punk’s behavior during the post-show media scrum. Jericho reportedly told CM Punk that he was a cancer to the locker room and a detriment to AEW. Punk’s exact response is unknown, but it was noted that he effectively told Jericho to leave as the situation wasn’t his business.
Shortly after Jericho made an appearance at the post-show media scrum and later led a talent meeting a few days later. People close to Punk confirmed that the interaction with Jericho took place.
