Top AEW Star Legitimately Injured

It’s always unfortunate when a professional wrestler suffers an injury while working in the ring, but that appears to be exactly what happened to MJF. The current AEW World Champion recently tweeted and deleted a post confirming that he has a torn labrum in his left shoulder. However, he did note that he’s expecting to defend his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe at AEW World’s End next month.

Fightful Select is reporting that MJF suffered the injury during the top rope uranage spot at AEW Full Gear. MJF also suffered a hip injury during the elbow drop to the outside.

MJF has been on a roll for quite some time now and he recently became the longest reigning AEW World Champion in the history of All Elite Wrestling. Only time will tell how things play out from here for MJF, but it’s being reported that he will be undergoing treatment as he’s hoping to avoid surgery.

Stay tuned for more updates on MJF’s status as they become available.
