When All Elite Wrestling first launched in 2019, Cody Rhodes was at the forefront of the company and it seemed that he would be with AEW for years to come. However, Cody’s run with AEW surprisingly came to an end in 2022, and he made his return to WWE a few months after his contract with All Elite Wrestling expired.
Cody has said little about his reasons for leaving AEW other than it was a personal issue. During a recent episode of his Keepin’ It 100 podcast Konnan talked a little bit about Cody’s reasons for leaving and he claimed that there were some problems between Brandi Rhodes and Britt Baker.
“One of the reasons that Cody left amongst many was there was problems between Brandi and Britt….Tony always takes her side….you’ll find out one day.”
While Cody’s AEW departure was surprising at the time there’s no denying that things have ended up alright for The American Nightmare. Currently Rhodes is the Undisputed WWE Champion and one of the top stars in the company.
