AEW Dynamite recently celebrated its two year anniversary, and back in August the wrestling world was introduced to AEW Rampage which currently airs on Friday nights.
This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown is being billed as a Supersized SmackDown, as the show is set to air for an extra 30 minutes which means Rampage and SmackDown will go head to head for the first time ever.
AEW President Tony Khan recently reacted to the news when he posted a tweet saying that he can’t wait to beat WWE’s main show.
The tweet got quite the reaction, and Tony Khan recently replied to a tweet about the backlash which noted that people weren’t nearly as upset when Eric Bischoff challenged Vince McMahon to a fight during the Monday Night Wars. Khan made it clear that he thinks AEW can put on a better wrestling show than WWE when he posted the following response:
“Dude, people online were absolutely furious over that in 98. Eric already had crazy online heat before that too. I’ll never take it that far; I’ve never claimed I could physically best Vince, I just think AEW can put on a better wrestling show than them & I want people to know it”
Stay tuned for more updates on AEW and WWE going head to head as they become available.
