Recently on Dynamite AEW celebrated the two year anniversary of the show, and for a time Dynamite was going head to head with NXT on Wednesday nights before NXT moved to Tuesdays.
WWE recently announced that the October 15 episode of SmackDown will be a special two-and-a-half hour Supersized SmackDown on FS1, which means the show will go head to head with AEW during the first thirty minutes of Rampage.
Tony Khan reacted to the news when he posted the following on Twitter:
“I saw you’re doing a half hour head-to-head with us. I can’t wait to finally beat your main show head-to-head. It’s been a long time coming. See you next Friday for #AEWRampage on @AEWonTNT!”
AEW has confirmed that CM Punk will face Matt Sydal next week on Rampage and Ruby Soho will take on The Bunny. Junior Dos Santos and Men of the Year will also be facing Chris Jericho, Jake Hager and TNT Champion Sammy Guevara.
SmackDown will feature an appearance from Brock Lesnar, Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks and the semi-finals for the King of the Ring and Queen’s Crown tournaments.
