Last year Vince McMahon retired from professional wrestling and the world was shocked when the announcement was made as Vince has been a key figure in the professional wrestling business for decades now. After Vince announced his retirement Tony Khan posted a tweet joking that he was now the “longest-tenured CEO in pro wrestling.
Thanks to you wrestling fans and your great support of @AEW, I’m grateful to now be the longest-tenured CEO in pro wrestling.
Thank you very much to every single person who watches @AEWonTV!

Well, a lot can change over the course of a few months and it was recently confirmed in a SEC filing that Vince McMahon has returned to the WWE Board of Directors. McMahon sent a letter to the Board last month stating his intentions to return ahead of media rights negotiations as he tries to spearhead a potential sale of the company.
The wrestling world has been processing Vince McMahon’s return to the Board of Directors ever since the news broke yesterday, and Tony Khan posted a tweet joking that everyone has been “so nice” to him over the last 24 hours.
“Everyone at work is being so nice to me these past 24 hours!
I wonder why… It must be belated holiday spirit.
See you tonight on TNT for TWO hours of @AEWonTV live, Friday Night #AEWRampage + #BattleOfTheBelts, back-to-back LIVE Starting at 10pm ET/9pm CT
