FTR had quite the year in 2022 as they spent a lot of time carrying championship gold, but they’re doing things differently in 2023. Dax Harwood confirmed on his podcast that FTR asked to be taken off TV for a little while, and it sounds like they’re weighing their options as they contemplate their future.
Harwood also said that FTR’s AEW contracts expire in April, so it seems that their time with AEW could be coming to an end depending on what they decide to do. During a recent appearance on In The Kliq, Tony Khan addressed FTR’s status and he noted that he’s hoping they will return to AEW.
“I do hope to see FTR back. They do need some time to recover from what was one of the most intense years of wrestling any team’s ever done — the schedule they went through, all the different places they worked.”
“So I think, for those guys, we wanna see them back in AEW and wanna see them heal up and come back at 100 percent. We’re really looking forward to that, hopefully. I think they’re a great team and would love to have them back.”
