Business has certainly picked up in the wrestling world as of late and while WWE has been releasing some surprising names AEW has also been signing some surprising names.
It was recently reported that Adam Cole’s WWE contract expired in July, but that he signed an extension which will keep him with the company through SummerSlam weekend.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter it was reported that AEW made an offer to Adam Cole, and that he was negotiating with NXT, but that Cole had not accepted either offer yet.
Now Dave Meltzer of the Observer is reporting that Tony Khan has said the report about AEW making an offer to Adam Cole is incorrect.
At this point it’s not clear where Cole might end up, but he’s expected to face Kyle O’Reilly at NXT TakeOver 36 during SummerSlam weekend. Stay tuned for updates.
