When All Elite Wrestling first launched in 2019 the company signed a number of notable names, one of which happened to be Chris Jericho. In the months that followed Jericho went on to become the first ever AEW World Champion, and he was consistently featured on AEW programming up until April of 2025.
Recently there’s been a lot of talk about Chris Jericho’s future as it’s rumored that he could be returning to WWE, but Jericho has been tight lipped regarding his next move.
During a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez, Tony Khan was asked about Chris Jericho’s current status and he showed nothing but appreciation for the former AEW World Champion.
“I’m really grateful when I talk about people that have been here from the beginning. Talk about the first show in Las Vegas, none of this would be possible without Chris Jericho, who has been instrumental in AEW from the very beginning. I love Chris very much and I would say that Chris is always a big part of AEW and I think this promotion is here to stay and Chris Jericho is a huge part of our history. We’re really proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish and Chris is an instrumental part of it.”
