For some time now AEW President Tony Khan has been hyping up a major announcement, and Tony kicked off this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Tony Khan stood in the ring and thanked the fans while hyping up the Revolution pay-per-view.
Tony Khan talked about the beginning of AEW, and he then pivoted and talked about the beginning of ROH. Tony followed up by announcing that today he signed a new deal and he became the owner of Ring of Honor. Tony Khan continued to thank the fans then he introduced Christopher Daniels and Bryan Danielson for the first match of the night.
According to the official press release the deal gives Khan access to Ring of Honor’s extensive video library, and Khan commented saying that he will immediately begin exploring opportunities to make the video library available to fans.
The press release notes that there is potential to create new content under the ROH banner. It was also noted that the acquisition will be completed through an entity that is wholly owned by Tony Khan, and more details will be announced in the weeks to come.
