Title Match Ends In Controversy Following Heel Turn On AEW Dynamite

Earlier this year Edge finished up his run with WWE when he faced off against Sheamus on SmackDown in Toronto back in August. The Rated R Superstar later made his AEW debut at the WrestleDream pay-per-view in October and he immediately set his sights on Christian Cage.

In the weeks that followed Adam Copeland offered to team with Christian Cage, but Christian rejected his offer in the most brutal way possible. Since then everything has been building toward a one on one match between the two former partners and they finally clashed during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Montreal.

The end of the match came when Adam Copeland went for a spear on Christian, but Christian reversed it onto the Killswitch. Christian then went for a spear on Copeland, but the ref got knocked out.

Christian Cage grabbed the TNT Championship then collided with Adam Copeland when he got back in the ring. Nick Wayne’s mother came down to the ring while both men were down and she grabbed the TNT Championship belt. Both men stood up then Nick Wayne’s mother hit Adam Copeland with the belt.

Cage hit the Killswitch again while the referee was down then placed Copeland’s face on the belt and stomped on his neck. The TNT Champion then pinned Adam Copeland for a three count to retain the belt.
