Business has picked up for the women’s division on SmackDown in recent weeks as a new star has claimed the top spot. Tiffany Stratton cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on the January 3 episode of SmackDown, and she defeated Nia Jax to become the new WWE Women’s Champion.
The following week Tiffany Stratton held a celebration on SmackDown and during the celebration she said, “I’m at the tippy top of my game, and without further ado, put some respect on my name, and tell me what time it is.”
Mandy Rose shared her thoughts on Tiffany Stratton’s promo during an episode of the Power Alphas Podcast, and she accused the current WWE Women’s Champion of stealing her catchphrase.
“Friday Night SmackDown, someone, a new champion named Tiffany Stratton, used my slogan, ‘Put some respect on my name.’ To be honest, I wasn’t even watching it. I got so many tweets about it and I was like, ‘What is going on?’ and I saw the clip and this b**** even used the same kinda tone. I was like, hold on a second, I thought we were cool. I put her over here. Listen, we can admire each other, we can respect, we can look up to, but we can’t take our words from each other.”
Rose later went on to praise Tiffany Stratton when she said, “Some new champions [have been crowned]. Obviously, Tiffany Stratton is new, so congratulations to you, Tiffy, but don’t use my words, honey. We’ll make that very clear, but that’s okay, but I commend you and I think you’re doing amazing, so I’ll put you over. But, again, don’t use my words [laugh].”
Mandy Rose first started working with WWE in 2015 when she joined the sixth season of Tough Enough. She went on to sign a contract with the company then debuted with with the NXT brand. Rose was called up to the main roster in 2017, but later returned to NXT in 2021. She defeated Raquel Rodriguez to win the NXT Women’s Championship in October of 2021, and she managed to hold the belt for 413 days. Eventually Rose dropped the NXT Women’s Championship to Roxanne Perez in December of 2023 and she was released shortly after.
