Tickets Are Selling Fast For The ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard At Madison Square Garden

For a long time WWE had a hold on Madison Square Garden, but next year Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling will be holding the G1 Supercard at the legendary venue. The G1 Supercard is shaping up to be a pretty big deal, and according to ROH COO Joe Koff the event is already 60% sold out, which is pretty impressive because the tickets don’t go on sale to the general public until Friday.

The fact that 60% of the tickets have already been sold through the pre-sale shows that there’s quite a bit of enthusiasm for the event, and it seems that events like All In and the G1 Supercard are showing that fans will buy tickets to bigger shows if they’re promoted correctly.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, as of August 8th 9,000 tickets for the event have reportedly been sold, and it’s expected to sell out.

However, with tickets selling so well it’s rumored that WWE may try to do their best to sign talent from ROH and NJPW.

There’s speculation that WWE will try sign The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega in order to prevent them from appearing at the Madison Square Garden show, as none of them will be under contract by the time of the G1 Supercard unless they sign new deals with ROH or NJPW before then.
