The last few years have been huge for NXT as the brand has grown immensely and there have been many NXT moments that got fans talking. NXT has been thought of as Triple H’s baby for some time now, but last year Triple H unfortunately suffered a cardiac event which forced him to take time away from the brand.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there are currently no plans for Triple H to return to running NXT, or for Triple H to be part of creative for the brand due to his health issues. If Triple H’s health improves then the situation could change, but the word is that Triple H’s return is not something that will be happening imminently.
It’s also being said that WWE is very happy with Shawn Michaels right now. The perception is that Michaels was under pressure to create new stars, and he created new stars with Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, LA Knight, Grayson Waller and Tony D’Angelo very quickly. Even though that was not HBK’s job when he was hired the responsibility fell on him due to Triple H’s health issues and WWE feels he has a great aptitude for the creative process.
The belief is that Shawn Michaels knows how to make talents stand out, and he knows how to make them into stars. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
