The Undertaker Reveals His Reaction To WWE Acknowledging Sting’s Retirement Match

Sting was lucky enough to have a long career in the professional wrestling industry that lasted decades. A few weeks ago Sting wrapped his career up for good when he and Darby Allin successfully defended the AEW Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks in the main event at the Revolution pay-per-view.

It’s not often that anything AEW related gets referenced on WWE programming, but Michael Cole and Pat McAfee both mentioned Sting’s retirement match the following night on Raw.

During a recent episode of Six Feet Under, The Undertaker talked about WWE’s decision to acknowledge Sting’s retirement match and why he feels it was the right thing to do.

“There are certain people within the industry….we’re in competition with a different company, I get it, but Sting’s legacy is so much bigger than AEW or anything like that. He deserved that. I’m happy that, as a company, they acknowledged it. It’s only right.

That whole AEW-WWE, it’s kind of like politics. You’re red, you’re blue, you’re conservative, you’re liberal. Most people are wrestling fans and they accept the fact that this is a true iconic star within the wrestling industry.”
