The Undertaker has been in the professional wrestling business for a long time which means he’s seen a lot of stars come and go. Earlier this year Undertaker crossed paths with one of the biggest names in history when he confronted The Rock at WrestleMania 40, but there was once a time when The Phenom had doubts about Rock’s future in the business.

During a recent episode of his Six Feet Under podcast The Undertaker talked a little bit about The Rock’s success while revealing his first impression when the former WWE Champion made his debut with WWE back in 1996.

“He’s worked really hard. It’s so funny because I’ve told [the story] when he debuted in Madison Square Garden and he was Rocky Maivia I was like this kid’s done! I thought it was over. Especially in The Garden, they will just flat-out annihilate you. Sometimes you can’t recover.

He’s coming out and he’s got the curly hair back then and they’re telling him to smile and they are booing the s*** out of him. I was like this kid ain’t long and it’s a shame because he’s a legacy too. Little did I know, I guess I got that one wrong.”

The Rock was a big part of WrestleMania season this year, but he has not appeared on WWE programming since the Raw after WrestleMania 40. The Final Boss confronted Cody Rhodes and it’s rumored that Rock and Rhodes could face off at some point in the future.
