The Rock played a major role on the road to WrestleMania 40 as he feuded with Cody Rhodes then stepped into the ring for a tag team match on the Grandest Stage of Them All. The Final Boss briefly appeared on the road to WrestleMania last year when he got involved in John Cena’s heel turn, but he has not appeared on WWE programming since the Elimination Chamber premium live event in March of 2025.
With WrestleMania season quickly approaching talk of The Rock’s status for the event is likely to pick up sooner rather than later, but it doesn’t seem that he’s planned for the show this year.
Andrew Baydala is reporting that there are currently no plans for The Rock to wrestle at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas this year. There is reportedly a big offer under discussion for WrestleMania 43 next year in Saudi Arabia. However, it’s being said that there’s hesitation about proceeding because The Rock knows it would likely be his last match.
WrestleMania 43 is set to emanate from Saudi Arabia for the first time ever in 2027 and some major offers are expected to be made not only to The Rock, but also to some of the biggest names in the business as the idea is for WWE to present the most star studded show ever.
