Business has certainly picked up on the road to WrestleMania as The Rock found himself on the receiving end of some major backlash after he returned to seemingly set up a WrestleMania match with Roman Reigns.
Wrestling fans pushed back by showing their support for Cody Rhodes leading up to the WrestleMania 40 press conference in Las Vegas last week. During the press conference Cody Rhodes chose Roman Reigns to be his opponent at WrestleMania and he also told The Rock and Roman Reigns that their grandfathers would be ashamed of them.
The Rock responded by slapping Cody Rhodes and it seems that things are likely to escalate on the road to WrestleMania 40. Following the press conference The Rock sent a message to Cody fans on Instagram when he posted the following:
“I was born into this crazy world and I love every second of it.
It’s been decades since pro wrestling has been buzzing like this for WRESTLEMANIA and this has become rare air that we’re all breathing, and it’s very f***ing cool & exciting for us, as wrestlers, our company and most importantly – all our fans.
Your hero f***ed around and he found out quick what happens when you talk about our family with disrespect.
Lines crossed and blurred – bring it.
We don’t toe the mark for no one.
Road to Wrestlemania begins…
