The Rock managed to become a legend in the world of professional wrestling, and throughout the course of his career he participated in some classic matches that fans still reference to this very day.
The Great One also has his own opinions on matches that impacted the industry, and when the official WWE on FOX Twitter account asked fans to name the most important match in WWE history, The Rock named Hulk Hogan vs. Iron Sheik at Madison Square Garden in 1984.
“Hogan vs Sheik. NYC. Garden. 1984. (seminal match with historic implications and a legit bounty thrown in the mix)”
The match saw Hulk Hogan defeat The Iron Shiek and capture the WWE Championship for the first time in his career. The match saw Hogan become the first person to escape the camel clutch, and is also credited with giving birth to Hulkamania.
