The Rock is without a doubt one of the most recognizable stars in the world, and for years wrestling fans have been repeating his numerous catchphrases.
Recently Pat McAfee has been feuding with Happy Corbin on SmackDown, and he referenced one of The Rock’s most famous catchphrases when he dropped the line “millions and millions” during a promo. McAfee also gave The Rock a shoutout on the Pat McAfee Show and he confirmed that The Great One gave him permission to use the line.
“Shoutout to The Rock by the way, thanks man. People are wondering, in the wrestling world, when you say somebody else’s catchphrase, it’s kind of a thing. Don’t want to go too in the weeds here, but I did get permission beforehand from Dwayne Johnson to say it.”
Pat McAfee added that he originally got permission to use the line earlier this year when he was feuding with Theory ahead of WrestleMania 38.
“If you do recall, in my last program against Austin Theory, when I was allowed to speak into the mic, I was in the middle of doing it and I got interrupted. That was around the time when I originally got the ‘okay’ to say it.”
Last week Pat McAfee challenged Happy Corbin to a match at SummerSlam and it’s expected that they will be facing off at the big event. SummerSlam will air live on Saturday, July 30th from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
