The Rock Comments On Becoming The New Owner Of The XFL

Earlier this year Vince McMahon did the unthinkable when he resurrected the XFL and launched the league a second time.

The XFL got sports fans buzzing, and the games received mostly positive feedback, but unfortunately the coronavirus pandemic hit the league pretty hard, and the XFL was forced to fold a second time.

That’s when The Rock stepped in with Dany Garcia, and RedBird Capital to make a deal to take over the league after the XFL filed for bankruptcy.

The Rock confirmed today that the deal is officially closed when he posted the following:

“The deal is official closed and “the keys” to the XFL have been handed over. I humbly accept and promise to put my callouses to hard work building our new brand. Congrats to my partners
@DanyGarciaCo & #GerryCardinale and our sharp, hungry team. #XFLOwner #ForTheLoveOfFootball”

There’s currently no word on when the league will return. Stay tuned for updates.
