The Rock is everywhere nowadays. He’s in hit movies, he’s on TV shows, he’s making an appearance at WrestleMania and now it’s been announced that he’s hosting the MTV Movie Awards. The Rock will be teaming up his “Central Intelligence” co-star Kevin Hart to host the show.
The show will be the 25th anniversary of the MTV Movie Awards and it’s set to air on April 9. The event will be filmed on the Warner Bros. backlot and will take place throughout several locations some of which will be outdoors. The show’s executive producer Casey Patterson told Variety that The Rock and Kevin Hart are the right people for that type of shoot.
“We want to do a big, brave thing to celebrate movies. We love Kevin and Dwayne for doing big, risky, bold things. Most award shows play it safe. They’re the right guys to take big swings.” Casey said.
Kevin Hart also told Variety that it’s an honor to be hosting and that he feels he and The Rock are the perfect team. As for The Rock he seems pretty thrilled as well.
Rock announced via Instagram that he and Kevin Hart are letting fans write the promos for the show. He posted the following:
