The Latest Update On Cody Rhodes’ Status With WWE

Cody Rhodes has been the talk of the wrestling world ever since he parted ways with AEW, but at this point it’s not clear what Cody will be doing next.

Fightful Select reports that they reached out to Cody Rhodes over the weekend and inquired about his status to which Cody offered the following response: “I logged on earlier and saw some wild stuff – these are mad times.” When asked to elaborate further Cody simply sent back a picture of his dogs.

It’s also being reported that Fightful asked people in WWE what they had heard about Cody Rhodes, and it was noted that no one had been specifically told he was coming in, but there had been chatter regarding Seth Rollins and Cody at WrestleMania. However, creative is said to be “uncertain.”

Over the weekend AEW stars noted that they believed the deal was off between Cody and WWE, but that was purely speculation, and no one had any concrete information.

It’s also being reported that there’s “something worth looking out for” in regards to Cody Rhodes in the Hollywood trades such as Variety, Deadline and others, but it’s not clear if that will be wrestling related.

Dave Meltzer also shared an update on Cody on the Wrestling Observer forum and he noted that the ball is in Cody’s court.

“Negotiations hit a snag. He has multiple offers. He has to make a decision. WWE wants the decision made soon for obvious reasons. The ball is in his court.”
