It’s been a while since WWE fans have seen John Cena in the ring, but it’s rumored that the 16 time WWE World Champion could be returning in some capacity.
PWInsider reports that while they could not confirm Cena will be returning, production for his Peacemaker series on HBO Max is currently set to wrap up in Vancouver on July 6th.
It was also noted that John Cena will have post-production work that he’ll need to do for the Peacemaker series, but he will be free to return to the United States in early July, which could leave the door open for a WWE return.
Cena last competed when he faced off against Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Funhouse match at WrestleMania 36 in March of 2020.
WWE recently announced a 25 city tour, and that fans will be returning for at least the following three dates:
– Friday, July 16: SmackDown – Toyota Center in Houston
– Sunday, July 18: Money In The Bank – Dickies Arena in Fort Worth
– Monday, July 19: Raw – American Airlines Center in Dallas
It’s rumored that there are ongoing talks for Cena to appear on the first show with fans back in attendance.
Stay tuned for updates.
