A few weeks ago the XFL officially confirmed which cities will be hosting their teams, but there are still many unanswered questions when it comes to the league’s 2020 season.
People are obviously wondering if XFL games will be airing on TV, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that broadcast agreements are expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
There was said to have been far more interest than people think, because stations want live sports, and they want football more than any other sport.
Even though the XFL’s rival, the AAF, has claimed it will have $650 million in funding and Vince McMahon hasn’t committed nearly as much, the belief is the XFL will be stronger because the league is running in bigger markets, and will pay players better.
Another difference between the two leagues is that the XFL will be signing players to long term exclusive contracts, the AAF has told players that while they can’t leave for a league like the XFL, they can leave if they get an offer from the NFL.
Coaches for the XFL teams are currently being interviewed, and quarterbacks are reportedly being offered $300,000.
The current idea is to have eight star quarterbacks signed by March so that they can start marketing the coaches and the quarterbacks to the local markets.
