SmackDown Live is set to move to Friday nights on FOX on October 4 and WWE recently confirmed that the first episode on FOX will be the SmackDown 20th anniversary show.
When WWE announced the event they confirmed some big names for the show such as Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Bill Goldberg, Jerry Lawler, Mark Henry, Sting and Ric Flair.
SmackDown at one point was referred to as “The Rock’s show” and it’s no big secret that WWE officials are hoping The Great One will be part of the 20th anniversary episode.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE has reached out to The Rock, but he hasn’t committed to the date yet.
Locally New Day vs. Orton & Bryan & Rowan and Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe are being advertised for the event.
