Lio Rush has been a very hot topic as of late because he hasn’t been appearing on Raw, and it’s been rumored that he has backstage heat.
PWInsider is reporting that there’s talk of sending Lio Rush to NXT. He was backstage at Raw this week but wasn’t used.
It’s being said that Rush has been a polarizing figure backstage in WWE for some time. The issues involving Rush date back to the European tour in November of 2018 where he reportedly blew off certain responsibilities that are considered to be standard backstage etiquette for junior members of the roster on overseas tours.
Duties include waiting at the gorilla position after matches to provide water to talents, as well as carrying coolers and drinks into the hotels where the roster is staying in order to set up a common area where people can socialize.
The jobs are done as a show of respect to the locker room, and are usually passed on to the junior members when they get called up.
With the tour in November being Rush’s first European tour, the responsibilities fell to him and when several veterans tried to explain the situation to him he reportedly blew them off then complained to management.
Things have calmed down over the last few months, but there have been other issues with Rush allegedly bringing friends and family backstage without the proper credentials, and blowing off advice from senior members of the Raw roster.
