Last month John Cena declared that he didn’t want to miss out on WrestleMania this year, so he entered himself in the Royal Rumble match.
But Cena never made it to the Royal Rumble, as WWE used an injury angle to write Cena out of the show.
It was reported that original plans called for John Cena to kick off a feud with Lars Sullivan at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, but Lars still has yet to make his main roster debut, and it’s unclear when he will be returning to WWE.
Sullivan’s status has left plans for Cena up in the air, as Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that John Cena still doesn’t have an opponent for WrestleMania this year.
Last year John Cena went to WrestleMania as “a fan” and then faced off against The Undertaker in an impromptu match which was teased ahead of time.
Taker made short work of Cena, so it will be interesting to see how the 16 time WWE World Champion is booked this year.
