Daniel Bryan was teasing for years that he would be wrestling elsewhere when his WWE contract expires, and his contract is currently set to expire in a few months.
However, after WWE cleared Daniel Bryan for a return to the ring, it was expected that he would sign a new deal with the company, but that hasn’t happened just yet.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Daniel Bryan still hasn’t signed a new contract with WWE, and his current deal will expire on September 1st.
Whether or not he will sign a new contract before his current deal expires remains to be seen, but it was recently reported that due to his contract status WWE officials are hesitant to push him.
Bryan has been working in a feud with Big Cass for weeks now even though he picked up a decisive victory over Cass at Backlash.
The two SmackDown Live stars will face off once again at Money in the Bank which is set to air live on the WWE Network on Sunday, June 17th.
Bryan has done in character promos on SmackDown Live saying that his goal is to become WWE Champion again, but until he signs a new deal it seems unlikely at this point that WWE will put him in a feud for the title.
