It’s been a while since fans have seen Aleister Black on WWE programming as he was drafted to Friday Night SmackDown back in October of 2020, but he has yet to make an appearance on the show.
Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Aleister Black is currently dealing with minor injuries. It was also noted that Black was one of the talents who benefitted from Paul Heyman being the Executive Director of Monday Night Raw, and he he also suffered when Heyman was removed from the role.
Back in November Aleister Black’s real life wife, Zelina Vega (real name Thea Trinidad), was released from WWE but it’s being said that her release has nothing to do with Black’s current status.
At some point Aleister Black had apparently asked to return to NXT. On Sunday night Andrade was released from his WWE contract, and Black recently commented on the release when he posted the following on Twitter:
