This week’s episode of NXT was a massive event as it was the special ShowDown edition. The stars of NXT and TNA Wrestling went head to head and The Hardys faced off against DarkState in a winner take all match to kick off the show. As the TNA Wrestling Tag Team Champions faced off against the NXT Tag Team Champions, The Dudleys looked on from the front row.
Near the end of the match Matt Hardy hit the Dion Lennox with the Twist of Fate then tagged Jeff in. Jeff immediately connected with the Swanton Bomb on Lennox and pinned him to win the NXT Tag Team Championship. After they picked up the victory The Hardys celebrated with the TNA Wrestling Tag Team Championship and the NXT Tag Team Championship as The Dudleys looked on.
The Hardys will now go on to defend the TNA Wrestling Tag Team Championship and the NXT Tag Team Championship against The Dudleys in a tables match at Bound For Glory on Sunday, October 12th.
