The WWE tag team division has been heating up on Friday Night SmackDown as DIY defeated A-Town Down Under to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions last month. Recently The Bloodline earned the right to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship when they won a gauntlet match, and DIY defended the titles during this week’s episode of SmackDown.
The Bloodline made their way down to the ring as Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga prepared to challenge DIY for the belts. Ciampa and Gargano both cut a promo backstage before they made their way out into the arena. Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu dominated early on as Solo Siko and Tonga Loa looked on from the ringside area.
Eventually the other members of The Bloodline interfered as Tonga Loa distracted the referee while Solo hit Tommaso Ciampa with the Samoan Spike. Gargano hit an inverted hurricanrana on Jacob Fatu, but Fatu no sold it. The end of the match came when Jacob Fatu hit Johnny Gargano with a superkick followed by a Samoan Drop, followed by a moonsault, follow by an Impaler DDT to pick up the win.
After the match Solo Sikoa celebrated with both of the WWE Tag Team Title belts over his shoulders as SmackDown went off the air.
