Taz has been lucky to have a long career in the professional wrestling business, and decades ago he decided to make the jump from ECW to WWE.
The former ECW World Champion spent some time as an active wrestler before transitioning to a commentary role, and his commentary skills have served him well.
Taz is currently working as a commentator, and a manager in AEW and he seemingly took a shot at WWE on the Fyter Fest edition of Dynamite this week when he said, “If you decide to get your ass here to work next week, you would get tested again here in AEW, because Jon, as you know, we don’t run a sloppy shop.”
It was later reported that people in WWE were very upset about the comment.
A fan noted on Twitter that they thought the comment was, “an unnecessary jab to a company that saved his career after wrestling & prepared him in a career of announcing.”
Taz joined the conversation and responded with the following:
“Saved my career??? Lmao, NO! They gave me opportunity (which I appreciated & accepted) but you NEED to understand…that’s a 2 way street. I was supplying them with a need & providing my services. They did that to capiltize on $ invest in me & they NEEDED a new fresh voice.”
