Taz Calls Out The Rock For Gimmick Infringement Over His ‘Rock The Promo’ Contest

The Rock isn’t just one of the most popular wrestlers of all time, he’s also one of the most recognizable movie stars on the planet. But no matter how famous he becomes The Rock will always be The People’s Champion and he’s always trying to find a way to give back to the people.

He recently announced a new contest called Rock The Promo where fans will have the chance to send in a video of them cutting a wrestling promo and judges will choose the best ones. The people who cut the best promos will then move on to a tournament.

It sounds like a pretty fun idea, but former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Taz wasn’t so happy when he heard the news, because he does something similar on his show with a segment called Hump Day Promos.

Taz has been doing the segment for over a year and he took to Twitter to voice his displeasure over the fact that The Rock is doing something similar. The Rock then tried his best to smooth things over and you can see how it went down below.

You can check out a clip of one of the Hump Day Promo segments from Taz’s show below.
