Over the years many wrestlers have come and gone and from time to time there are names who make the transition from active competition to commentary.
Wade Barrett joined the WWE commentary team in 2020 when he started working in NXT and he currently calls the action on Monday Night Raw alongside Joe Tessitore. The former Intercontinental Champion hasn’t wrestled a match since 2016, but it looks like there’s a chance that he could be stepping back into the ring at some point.
During an episode of WrestleVotes Radio on Backstage Pass it was noted that while Wade Barrett is not interested in returning to the ring full-time, there is interest in Barrett returning for a short feud with Drew McIntyre.
CM Punk picked up a big win over Drew McIntyre at the WWE Bad Blood premium live event in October, and McIntyre has not appeared on WWE programming since. At this point it’s not clear when he’ll be back on TV.
