There’s no denying that 2023 has been the type of year that has reminded fans why you can never say never in the world of professional wrestling. Fans have seen some interesting returns, and it looks like there’s potential for a current WWE commentator to return to the ring in the future.

Corey Graves originally retired from in-ring competition in 2014 due to concussion issues, but while speaking with Stealers Takeaways he confirmed that he’s been medically cleared to return for a few years now. Graves also indicated that he’s open to an in-ring return if the right opportunity presents itself. However, he made it clear that he doesn’t want to wrestle full time.

“The transition in a weird way saved me from what could have been. Instead of grieving over the loss of my dream as an in-ring performer, it gave me something new to focus my energy on while staying in the business. I found a new mountain to climb. In hindsight it really helped me deal with that loss.

I have a clean bill of health now, thanks. I actually got medically cleared a couple of years ago to perform in the ring again. I flirted with the idea and am waiting for a potential opportunity if it presents itself. More of a one-time ting like McAfee has done – not as a full-time in-ring performer.”
