It’s been a while since fans have seen Brock Lesnar on WWE programming, as the last time he competed was at WrestleMania 36 last year. The Beast walked into the event as the WWE Champion, but he ended up dropping the belt when he was defeated by Drew McIntyre.
Drew went on to spend the majority of the year that followed as WWE Champion, but there was another name that was considered for Drew’s spot at WrestleMania last year.
It was reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that in early 2020 Aleister Black was one of the two people who were considered to beat Lesnar at Mania.
It’s being said that Drew McIntyre and Aleister Black were both being groomed for the spot, but ultimately the decision was made to go with Drew because he was the most over out of the two choices.
Black then fell down the card after Paul Heyman was removed from his position as Executive Director of Raw.
The former NXT Champion has not appeared on WWE programming since October of 2020, but recently it was reported that WWE is filming vignette’s for Aleister Black’s return.
