A lot of people don’t pay much attention to WWE’s Cruiserweight Division. As soon as people see the ring crew changing the ring to all purple, for some reason, fans seem to lose interest. But WWE is giving fans a really good reason to watch the Cruiserweight Championship match at Extreme Rules.
The Cruiserweight Division in WWE might seem stagnant, but there’s still plenty of good stuff going on. Austin Aries is the current top babyface in the division and his title hunt as he seeks after Neville’s Cruiserweight Championship has been a fun one to watch.
These two guys have been able to work with each other for a while now. Aries and Neville have competed all over the world against each other battling in singles and tag matches. Needless to say, the two have figured out how to put on a great match.
They were the highlight of the WrestleMania 33 kickoff show (even though they didn’t make the DVD). It seems every time these two meet they get the chance to surprise fans with what they’ll do next.
Austin Aries will get another chance to win the Cruiserweight Title at Extreme Rules but as with most matches at the annual event, there will be a stipulation attached. WWE announced today that Neville will defend his WWE Cruiserweight Championship in a submission match at Extreme Rules against A Double. Both of these amazing entertainers’ abilities will be challenged in this special stipulation. We can’t wait to see what they come up with.
It will be the Aries’ Last Chancery vs Neville’s Rings Of Saturn and everything else they can throw at each other. This has all the possibility of being a great match and offers a lot of opportunities for these two to showcase some supreme wrestling ability. Well played, WWE.
