There’s no denying that Sting was one of the most iconic performers in the business when he was in his prime, but he eventually hung up the boots when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016. Sting’s contract with WWE expired a few years ago and it was at that point Tony Khan reached out to him.
Since then Sting has become an official member of the All Elite Wrestling roster, and he’s returned to the ring wrestling a handful of matches for the company.
It’s safe to say that the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion has more matches behind him than in front of him at this point, so retirement is on his mind. Recently Sting spoke to The Ringer about plans for his final match and he noted that Darby Allin will be involved somehow.
“Well, I know Darby is going to be a part of it for sure. I won’t have a singles match at this point. Darby will be along with me and I’ll be along with him and we can add more to it as far as I’m concerned. But I have a few people [in mind] and I really don’t want to say now.”
