For many years fans thought they would never see Sting compete in a WWE ring, but he shocked the world when he made a big impact at the Survivor Series pay-per-view in 2014.
The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion went on to wrestle a few matches in WWE before being forced into retirement due to injury, and it was assumed that he would never wrestle again.
However, a few months ago Sting joined AEW and he recently teamed up with Darby Allin to face Ricky Starks and Brian Cage in a cinematic match at the Revolution pay-per-view.
Sting talked about making the jump to AEW during a recent interview with Bleacher Report, and he noted that he didn’t want to end his career with his tail between his legs.
“It wasn’t a goal of mine to get back in the ring. The only thing I thought I might do is have a cinematic match against Undertaker when I was with WWE. We weren’t able to come to an agreement. Tony [Schiavone] reached out to me and asked if I wanted to come play and let him know. A year later and I thought WWE isn’t working out and I didn’t want to disappear with my tail between my legs. I hate that.”
