For many years fans talked about the possibility of Sting joining WWE, and he finally wrestled his first match in a WWE ring when he faced off against Triple H at WrestleMania 31.
Sting vs. The Undertaker was often talked about as a dream match, but the match never came to fruition, and Sting officially announced his retirement from in-ring competition when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
However, Sting made it clear during an interview with Sports Illustrated that he still wants to face Taker.
“If there was a ’Taker situation at WrestleMania, I would listen to that phone call. I could get in condition and I could pull it off.”
The former WCW World Champion went on to say that he thinks his career is done, but he still thinks about a match with The Undertaker every year.
“I think my career is done. I still think about the ‘Taker situation every year, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
