This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was the special Winter Is Coming edition, and some surprises were rumored for the event.
Sting made his debut at the show when he made his surprise entrance while Team Taz was beating down Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin.
The lights went out and it started snowing inside Daily’s Place. When the lights came back on Sting made his entrance, and when he got in the ring he stared down Arn Anderson, then Cody Rhodes, then Darby Allin.
Sting didn’t say a word, but he did “woo” for the crowd before making his exit. The announcers teased that his reasons for showing up in AEW are unknown.
It was reported recently that Sting’s contract with WWE had expired, making him a free agent.
After the break it was announced that Tony Khan has signed Sting to a multi-year contract, and that Sting will speak on AEW Dynamite next week.
