Still Real Radio Exclusive: James Ellsworth Talks Almost Teaming With AJ Styles, Who He Wants To Face In WWE

Fresh off his appearance on SmackDown Live this week, James Ellsworth was nice enough to speak with us about almost teaming with AJ Styles and more. Please check out Still Real Radio on iTunes by clicking here. You can check out some highlights from the interview below, along with the full episode, and you can also download the full episode by clicking here.

His appearance on SmackDown: “Almost teaming with the WWE World Champion, who happens to be the Phenomenal AJ Styles, to me probably the best wrester in the world, it’s just unbelievable. It’s unbelievable to me that I got put in that situation by Daniel Bryan that I almost teamed up with AJ Styles if it wasn’t for The Miz.”

Why fans connect with him: “I think people just took to me because I’m a unique looking guy. I look different from everybody on planet Earth I think, and I look like I have no chance. But I say that I have a chance, and I’m gonna fight, and even though I’m the smallest guy, and I’m not the best looking guy, I think people just took to that.”

What was a bigger moment for him, his Raw appearance or SmackDown appearance: “The top moment was just walking into that promo with Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center. Philadelphia is known for having smarter fans, and they’re probably the smartest fans in the country. When I walked into that promo with Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles that was 100% live, and I felt it, and that was just the coolest feeling in the world.”

Who he wants to face in WWE: “It would be Kevin Owens. I just think he’s outstanding, and just so entertaining, and so good in the ring, and he looks different than everybody on the show. I just think he’s all around awesome. I’d love to get in there with the Universal Champion and give it a go.”

Following your dreams: “Anybody out there, don’t ever think your dreams can’t come true. I am the definition of ‘it can happen’ because any man with two hands has a fighting chance.”
