WWE has another impressive addition to their staff as Steve Corino officially started his job as a coach at the Performance Center this week. Corino is fresh off of his Wrestle Kingdom 11 announcing gig where he and Kevin Kelly called the event for the English broadcast.
Corino’s presence was specially called out at WK11 during the Cody Rhodes match as Cody made several threatening comments toward Corino during the match. Cody Rhodes even walked over to the broadcast booth after his victory over Juice Robinson (formerly known as CJ Parker in NXT) where he not only continued to yell at Corino, but also took his water bottle. Luckily Cody was nice enough to throw it back after he stole a drink from it.
Steve Corino is not only a talented announcer but also an established ring veteran. He was Kevin Steen’s final opponent in Ring of Honor before Steen headed to WWE and took the surname ‘Owens’ in July 2014. Steve Corino is also a former ECW World Heavyweight Champion. This acquisition not only marks the latest ROH employee brought to WWE, but it is also a very exciting addition to the developmental program in Orlando.
It appears that Steve Corino will be on hand for tonight’s NXT live event in Tampa, FL, as he’s hyping up the show on Twitter.
