Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan announced his retirement on Monday and TMZ recently caught up with Steve Austin and asked him about his thoughts on Bryan’s injuries. Austin talked a little bit about Daniel Bryan’s style and how it impacted his career.
“I just think Daniel Bryan worked a very physical cruiserweight style and finally, after everything he did, it kinda took it out of him. I don’t think it’s going to be an epidemic.”
Bryan had to hang up the boots for good after suffering too many concussions. With all of the injuries that have been nagging the WWE roster recently, TMZ asked Austin if he thinks the company has a concussion problem.
“Over the past 20 years, there’s only been a couple guys that had to bow out with concussions. Daniel worked his ass off and he was a hard worker, and his style finally caught up with him. It is what it is but I don’t think it’s an epidemic.”
