Appearances from Steve Austin on WWE programming are few and far between nowadays, but earlier this year the Hall of Famer made his return to Raw during the March 16th episode.
Austin is used to performing in front of an energetic crowd when he makes appearances on Raw, but unfortunately there were no fans in attendance due to the coronavirus pandemic.
During a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show Austin noted that he wasn’t happy with the creative for his segment, and he pitched some ideas to Vince McMahon that got shot down.
“It was really strange and I wasn’t happy with the creative because I wanted to sit down and maybe do an interview with Byron Saxton or something to talk about something that was a shoot. Vince says, ‘God damn, Steve, people are just gonna be in a bad way. Go out there and entertain them and do this promo.’ I went back to his trailer three times. So, anyway, I ended up doing the promo, it sucked, it was hard.”
