Steve Austin Reportedly Turns Down Role On Tough Enough Over Heat With Vince McMahon

Last week there were rumors going around that many within WWE were surprised by the fact that Steve Austin wasn’t attending WrestleMania 31. Austin was apparently scheduled to fly into San Jose on the same flight that The Undertaker was on as they both live in Texas. When the flight landed Austin obviously was not there. WWE even had an employee waiting to pick Austin up from the airport. It appears they still thought he might show up as there was a room with his name on it backstage at Levi’s Stadium until mid-week.

It’s being reported that the reason Steve Austin didn’t attend WrestleMania is due to a rift between him and Vince McMahon. One person close to the situation said Vince is more furious over this than anything he’s ever been angry about. Apparently the issue has to do with Vince McMahon not liking certain aspects of Steve Austin’s podcast on the WWE Network which could also be why WWE is now using Jericho’s podcast.

WWE also wanted Austin for the upcoming season of Tough Enough but he reportedly turned it down for an unknown reason. Some expect Austin to address his issues with WWE shortly.
