Steve Austin’s time in ECW is remembered fondly by the fans. After being fired by WCW, Heyman invited Austin to come to ECW and air his grievances and it made for some very entertaining TV. During his time in ECW Austin really tapped into his personality. Steve Austin recently appeared on Taz’s Bodyslams and Beyond Show and he talked about his time in Extreme Championship Wrestling and how it changed the course of his career.
“I really value my days down there in ECW in Philly. It was a pivotal time in my career and I dare say that if I’d not made my stop through [ECW], I don’t know if I’d ever really [become] ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. I always give Paul Heyman all the credit in the world for helping me get to the level [to which] I got.”
